Shower breasts

I know many boys and girls who could definitely use one of these. (When is Rosi’s birthday??)

ShowerBreasts.jpg

From boysstuff.co.uk [via Gizmodo]:

This naughty nipple-topped pair attaches to your shower wall with the suckers provided, with each bosom having a compartment for shower gel, shampoo or conditioner.

Doesn’t that mean they need to provide a 3rd-boob option? I tried to look for a similar product that’s shaped like a penis, but didn’t find any. Maybe the idea of a penile shampoo dispenser is a bit too much.

Coupe de Boule

Oh, that Zidane and his headbutt. First the video game, now the summer smash hit. It’s pretty catchy actually.

La plage records made the song. There’s even a remix already. Lyrics of the song, after the jump.

Pricasso

Oh boy. Pricasso paints pictures with penis. See the BBC article. Or Tim Patch’s own website (which has semi-naked people).

A climate scientist defends his work

Peter Doran is the lead author of this Nature article [UMICH] about how parts of Antarctica is cooling, which skeptics often cites as an evidence against global warming. Doran distances himself from the global warming skeptics in a NY Times article. A lengthier version of the article is on Doran’s website, as well as some links explaining and supporting the claims in his article. He makes the following observations on the skeptics and the debate in general:

1. It has always amazed me that skeptics of climate warming are quite ready to distrust 99% of the scientific community, but they immediately trust me only because I wrote a paper they “thought” supported their argument.

2. My favorite argument from global warming critics is “it’s been warmer than this in the past” or “temperatures fluctuate all the time”. But how do they know this? Because of the scientific evidence. So why do they question everything said by climate scientists concerning modern climate??

3. When did discussing the weather become political?

Well, discussing the weather shouldn’t political, not if we stay away from talking about fixing the weather, even though people often talk about the two topics at the same time. The debate in the future will be whether it’s better to direct resources to fixing global warming or to try adapting to it. I’m in the camp of fixing it, because I don’t like not knowing when that steep slope in the temperature graph is going to end.

For those who may have been abused by science when they were young and have trust issues, Wikipedia has some nice charts that show how the temps are increasing, and they do correspond to increase of carbon dioxide, etc. Now, Wikipedia is something we all can love and trust, right?

The 5000 fingers of Dr. T

Here is an old movie featuring a namesake of mine. From the description at IMDB:

Dr. T has a mad plan to force 500 young boys to practice at his magnificent piano 24 hours a day, 7 days a week…. Features the only piano academy ever known to be equipped with cells and surrounded by an electric fence.

Sounds a bit kinky! But it’s really a family film from the 50s, the only non-cartoon movie written by Dr. Seuss. I didn’t realize people were capable of being this campy back in the 50s.

There’s supposed to be a romantic comedy Dr. T and the women, starring Richard Gere as Dr. T, the Texas Gynecologist. I think I might skip that one.

So wach warst du noch nie

Another oldie. Are you tired? Turn up your speakers and enjoy this video. It’ll “give you a natural boost,” but please don’t die while watching.

Then there’s this.

There is more where that came from.

Exploding whales

While sifting through some old emails, Wolf reminded me of the story of the whale that exploded in the street of Tainan, Taiwan. Which inevitably brings up that other story about the whale that beached 35 years ago in Florence, Oregon. They tried to get rid of the carcass by dynamiting it. The results were mixed.

There is now a website dedicated to exploding whales, and other exploding things.

Where the hell is Matt

This guy, Matt Harding, seems to enjoy quite a bit of fame on the internet. I find the video quite touching, actually. It seems he might be a tad weary of the attention from the video.  Whatever his intentions were when he started this idea, in the end, he created a beautiful thing when disparate corners of the world were united through one silly little dance.
